So, who wants to be with me?
I first started this project because, as a teenager, I couldn’t find any regular volunteer opportunities. The process of finding the work was too complicated, with Korea’s official volunteer portal, 1365, having a lot of issues. Most organizations there don’t even accept youth volunteers.
My first idea was to make a simple volunteer app. But making an app turned out to be very complicated. I had to design, code, and once that is done, I would need to promote it somehow. If volunteers were to join, I would need to manage them. Doing all of these alone seemed impossible, which is why I want to start an organization to work with people who share the same vision.
Once I’ve built the app on the tech side, I’ll need people to help promote it and built a community with the volunteers. I’m currently working on forming a group, but I didn’t expect this process to take so much time. I’ve been waiting a month just to get a youth ID issued by the community center, which is needed to officially start an organization.
I hope to find two or three friends who can join me. So far, one friend has agreed to help. Once I finish making the app, it would be great to brainstorm together on how we can promote it. I’ve also started asking for advice from people who work in promotion or app-related fields. If any of them could join, it would be amazing.
For now, I think I need to focus on developing the app. Once it’s ready, I’ll be able to clearly show people what I want to do, explain it better, and invite them to join the movement.
