Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been sending my proposal to join VolKo to people around me – especially foreigners. Unfortunately, responses haven’t been as positive as I had imagined. Most people were too busy to dedicate their time in volunteer work, and I think the fact that I’m a high school student just getting started plays a big role. One of the people I sent my proposal to was my French teacher, and when I asked her to check if any of her friends would be interested, she responded with something along the lines of: “People won’t take it seriously since it’s from a high school student.”
Except for the one friend who originally agreed to join VolKo, I haven’t really been reaching out to my friends about this. They’re mostly interested in sports like soccer, volleyball, and basketball, which is how they spend their weekends. I don’t blame them though, as I like playing golf myself. But now that I’m a freshman, I’m planning to ask some new people about this.
I recently found out that surprisingly, there is no volunteer club in our school.
