What to do Before the App (March 26, 2026)

I ran into unexpected server issues while building the app: something I never really anticipated. It’s been seriously stressful, and even now, I’m not sure when or how I’ll be able to launch it.

After thinking about it for a few days, I remembered my initial goal was simple: to introduce myself to organizations as a group rather than as an individual. I think it carries more credibility, and creating one turned out to be much easier than I expected.

VolKo began out of frustration with how poorly platforms like 1365 are set up and the lack of consistent, ongoing volunteer opportunities for students. But it’s not just students. This applies to adults and even foreigners in Korea. I felt like there had to be a better way for people to find regular volunteer work, so I decided to build an app around that idea and formed a group alongside it.

Looking at it from another angle, even though the app isn’t ready yet (it will be soon), the organization already exists.

Over the past few weeks, after dealing with all the stress, I came to a simple conclusion: there are still things I can do under the name of Volko, even before the app launches.

Before this month ends, I’m going to create a Volko Instagram account and start actual activities as a group.

So the question is what those activities should be.

First, I need to get the word out and let people know what Volko is.
And I need to think more seriously about what kids like Min-woo actually need.
