Official Organization Registration (October 5, 2025)

I collected all the documents necessary to officially apply for an organization a few weeks ago at the district office. Volunteers Korea (VolKo) is the name of the organization. Since I’m under-aged, I had to submit more documents than I had originally thought, and the process was quite time consuming.

The district office contacted me a few days after I applied, and as expected, they asked why I want to create this organization and what I’ve done to create it (as I am under-aged). They also asked me to submit proof of my volunteer work.

Although I had volunteer time with the Minwoos, this wasn’t for official volunteer hours or any sort of credit, I had no official record; in Korea, there’s a system to record volunteer hours, but I never signed up for it. So I collected some photos I took while volunteering and asked the director of the group home if he could write a recommendation letter for me. He kindly accepted and sent me a letter in less than half an hour.

I submitted both the recommendation letter and the photos, and they were genuinely touched by the letters. I finally received he official registration certificate just recently.

I’ve been pretty busy going on school golf tournaments ans working on the research I started recently, but I’m excited to see everything progressing little by little. I’m not sure what opportunities or troubles would come from starting an organization, but I hope this becomes a starting point people can take a part in.

My next goal is to finish the app I’ve been putting aside for a while.
